The 2013 Home Product Show is this next weekend March 23 and 24 at the Victoria Community Center. The show starts Saturday, March 23 and runs from 10 AM-5 Pm and again on Sunday from 12 PM-5 PM. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for students. Check out the list of vendors. You’ll find more information at the Builder Association of Victoria website.

It’s time to order your Bountiful Basket and be ready to pick it up on Saturday at 1 PM. The site was having problems with it’s servers so if you have trouble placing your order please try again later. I was able to place my order. Like and follow them on Facebook. Click this link to login and place your order. You can also register for free if needed. It’s like a box of chocolates….you never know what you’re going to get.

Pick up is 1:00 PM Saturday, March 23 – Across the street from Radio Shack and Hungry Jack’s Restaurant.

Victoria Market Days – DeLeon Plaza 101 N. Main St.

Market Days started 11 years ago. Over 100 vendors bring their items for sale and gather at DeLeon Plaza in downtown Victoria the third Saturday of the month. The free event is from 9am-4pm. You’ll find plenty of food, arts and crafts, jewelry, leather works, wood works, plants, and entertainment for the entire family. You want to buy a house. Step 3 – Determine market value

Step 1 – Get your pre-approval letter from your lender

Step 2 – Look at houses in your pre-qualified price range

Step 3 – You found a house you like and you are ready to submit an offer.  Rick and Sharon will help you determine the fair market value for the house you wish to purchase. They will do ‘comps’ in the area to find out what other properties of like size, age, location, and amenities have sold for in the past 6 months. You will want to consider the average, high, and low price per square foot of the sold properties and compare those same numbers to the property you want to purchase.

To find price per square foot:

  • Divide the home’s price by the number of square feet to figure its cost per square foot.
  • The formula is: Price / Square Feet = Price Per Square Foot. Ex: $132,000 / 1250 sq ft = $105.60 per square foot.

The park is a skate at your own risk facility and it’s designed for skateboarding and in-line skating. Motorized vehicles are prohibited. It is an unsupervised facility and protective equipment is strongly recommended. Take care of the park, enjoy it, don’t tag it, and use the trash containers provided. Skate safely and be courteous to others. Open from 6 AM-11 PM.

Appy Days – SnapShop Showroom

snapshopSnapShop Showroom allows you to visualize furniture in any room of your house. You can place furniture where needed and then share with a friend. Select a picture from your camera roll or take a picture, drag and drop furniture or accessories from the app’s catalog, rotate, scale, and drop into your room! It’s a little tricky to scale and move the pieces but it does give you an idea of how a piece of furniture, artwork, or accessory would look in the space. Snapshop Showroom is a free app. If you are out looking at houses you could take pictures of rooms and later open the picture in the app and place your furniture. Of course a house staged with furniture wouldn’t work as well but I was able to place items over existing pieces just to get an idea.

Appy Days – iHandy Level

ihandysmiHandy Level is a free app allowing the user to measure for picture alignment, angle measurement, wall level, and much more. After downloading the free app you will need to calibrate it by placing on a flat surface. Now when you are out looking at homes you can test to see if the floor or walls are level using your iHandy Level app.
