In and Around Victoria #33 – Historical Walking or Driving Tour

tourHistoric Victoria offers many fine old homes and buildings and there is a driving tour that features over 80 properties that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Many of the homes and buildings have also been awarded Texas Historical Landmarks. You can follow the tour using your mobile device! There’s also a driving tour brochure available at the Chamber of Commerce office at 3404 N Ben Wilson. Check out Victoria in Motion (page 16) and try and identify the 17 pictures taken on the tour. If your name is drawn you’ll win lots of free stuff!

Shout Out #3 – Toms Shoes

I’m sending this Shout Out to Toms because of their One for One program and because their shoes are SO comfortable. I decided to try a pair a couple of months ago and I honestly thought my feet would hurt by the end of the day, but I was wrong! I can show houses all day long wearing my Toms and my feet don’t hurt at all. Now my biggest problem is what pair should I order (there are so many cute choices) and how many pairs should I really own?! All I can say is try a pair….I think you’ll like them!

The Texas Zoo located in Riverside Park is small, but a real treat! There’s plenty of parking, a nice gift shop, concessions, aviary, small petting zoo, roaming peacocks, and many wild and beautiful animals to observe. Visit and explore all the Zoo has to offer! The Quilt Guild’s annual quilt show – Quilt Show – Threads in Bloom - is this Friday and Saturday, March 22 & 23. The 2013 Home Product Show is this next weekend March 23 and 24 at the Victoria Community Center. The show starts Saturday, March 23 and runs from 10 AM-5 Pm and again on Sunday from 12 PM-5 PM. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for students. Check out the list of vendors. You’ll find more information at the Builder Association of Victoria website.

It’s time to order your Bountiful Basket and be ready to pick it up on Saturday at 1 PM. The site was having problems with it’s servers so if you have trouble placing your order please try again later. I was able to place my order. Like and follow them on Facebook. Click this link to login and place your order. You can also register for free if needed. It’s like a box of chocolates….you never know what you’re going to get.

Pick up is 1:00 PM Saturday, March 23 – Across the street from Radio Shack and Hungry Jack’s Restaurant.
